Emerging Light at 48th Street, VB, 8.17.12

At first look...
it seemed to be kinda plain...
down at the Beach today...
Just a faint glow of pink...
competing with the sparse raindrops...
and wet grey Clouds ...
to the North...
I almost left early...
but i stayed...
and the Sun slipped through the Horizon's Haze...
and just for a few minutes...
there was a glorious glow...
to everything...
as the Sun showed it's power...
and then...
with a wink...
the Sun slipped back into the Clouds...
and it was just kinda plain again...
But i know what i saw...
and the Sandpiper...
was watching, too...
