Seas 'n Trees... blues 'n greens...

Because the Natural World is Awesome...

New images mostly every day, fresh from Virginia Beach... featuring Sunrises and the Magic that happens where the Sky, the Surf, and the Sand collide and mix into that Mystical State we call the Beach...
So, sit back and enjoy the view... although all the Elements are the same, they mix in entirely different and exciting ways every day... if you can't actually be on the Beach, I'll show you how it was...

Foggy Mornin' at Washington Ave, Spring Lake, 12.10.12

Another mornin'...
tossin' lures...
into the Striper Haunts...
down at the Beach today...
But it was hard...
not to look...
at what was gone...

Boards are still washin' in...

A White Gull...
flies along...
where the Boardwalk was...

The Piers were built and set...
in 1937...
They still stand...
And the new Flag flyin'...
says the Boards will be back...

Sentinels facing the Sea...

The man-made Boardwalk...
fell to Sandy's Might...
but the Dunes held...
and the Oceanfront houses were saved...
Symmetrical screws and design...
failed...
but the random meanderings...
of roots...
held the fragile Sands together...
and Sandy could not...
tear them apart...

What i noticed today was...
that although so many structures were destroyed...
and people's routines were altered...
the Sea and it's immediate Beach were doing business as usual...
the Birds were up to their usual tricks...
and the fish were doing what they should be doing...
 shells were washing up...
and if you didn't look back over your shoulder...
everything was as it should be...
