Another Sunrise...

down at the Beach today...

But...

as i stepped up to the Sea...

to bring it's Mood to you...

there was something...

a couple blocks North...

in the wash...

Immediately...

the denial hit...

NO...

i said...

IT'S NOT...

but i knew...

it was...

even though...

it was just a speck...

up there...

i had to go...

so i did...

and it was...

The Sea...

gave up...

one of Her own...

the Tide...

pushed it up...

to the Sand...

She was done with it...

Another One gone...

it's a bad year...

for the Dolphins...

Morbillivirus...

is back...

like canine distemper..

or measles...

a virus...

is sweeping through...

the Bottlenose Dolphins...

right now...

Over 300 gone...

from Jersey...

to the Outer Banks...

almost 200...

here in Virginia...

that have been found...

and there'll be more...

before the Course...

is Run...

These Beautiful...

Wave Gliders...

swim in pods...

so close to each other...

and that makes it easy...

for the virus to spread...

as they clear their blowholes...

and the exhaled virus...

settles on their companions...

and the infection...

multiplies...

So the Dolphins...

sicken and die...

because they have to be so close...

to family and friends...

as they Sail...

the Magnificent Sea...

together...

But not all...

who sicken...

die...

And they build up immunity...

against the scourge...

And the Dolphins...

will go on...

to Grace the Sea...

with their...

Elegance...

and the Beautiful Way...

they live their Lives...

and we will be Grateful...

to Watch...

and Learn...

Meanwhile...

the Sun came up...

to brighten the Beach...

the Tides...

Rise and Fall...

and the damn Seagull...

tries to figure out...

how to eat...

the Bat...

it somehow...

got hold of...
