Seas 'n Trees... blues 'n greens...

Because the Natural World is Awesome...

New images mostly every day, fresh from Virginia Beach... featuring Sunrises and the Magic that happens where the Sky, the Surf, and the Sand collide and mix into that Mystical State we call the Beach...
So, sit back and enjoy the view... although all the Elements are the same, they mix in entirely different and exciting ways every day... if you can't actually be on the Beach, I'll show you how it was...

Settling Down at 48th Street, VB, 10.31.12

Nature has calmed...
down at the Beach...
The Surf has cleared...
the Water has cleaned up...
The Sky is wiped clean...
The Birds are flying...
and the Big Ships...
are coming and going...
across the Big Sea...

The Storm is Gone From 48th Street, VB, 10.30.12

Calm is creeping back...
down at the Beach today...
Strong Offshore winds...
have tamed the Surf...
And the Light of the Sun...
has broken through the Dark Clouds...
The Birds are back...
patrolling Sea and Shore...
Nature has hit the Reset Button...
wiping the Beach clean and fresh...

Awesome Surf at 48th Street, VB, 10.29.12

Well, that didn't take long...
down at the Beach today...
The Party has started...

The wind has switched...
to strong Offshore...
and already is starting...
to tame the Surf...

And the Surfers are swarming...

It's winding down...
but we got some Rain...

And here's some video:

Big High Tide at 48th Street, VB, 10.29.12

Big Waves and a Big Tide...
down at the Beach today...
The Sands have been pushed...
halfway up the SeaWall...
and up the Ramps...
Waves sweep across the Beach...
and over the SeaWall...
Hurricane Sandy is right off VB...
right now...
and She has the Surf whipped into a frenzy...
The Waves are Big...
but the wind is from the North now...
and will swing Offshore...
as Sandy rambles up and into the Coast...
As the Waves shape up...
the Surf is gonna Rock tomorrow...

And Virginia Beach's Prettiest Trash Can...
(it's Landscaped)...
has somehow managed to hang on to...
it's Blossoms...

See video of this morning's High Tide here:

Low Tide at 48th Street, VB, 10.28.12

Low Tide...
still blowin' hard...
down at the Beach...

Couldn't hold the camera...
steady enough...
to take pics...
straight out...
or to the North...
with the wind, Rain, and blowin' Sand...

But a Mom...
brought her two Little Girls...
to see the Sights...
and they Played right on by...
the bluster and fierceness...
and left with Smiles...
but without their Umbrella...

And the poorly designed...
and Cheaply made...
item...
gave Testimony...
to the...
Awesome Power of Nature...
;)

And here's some video of Low Tide:

High Tide at 48th Street, VB, 10.28.12

High Tide was rough...
down at the Beach today...

The Rain held off...
for a bit...
but the wind is crankin'...
steady 30 with gusts of 45...
scouring the Beach...
bringing up the buried bits...
of stuff...
that had settled under the Sands...

The Tide crawled further...
up the Beach...
pushing piles of Foam...
The crashing Waves...
are making more...

All's quiet here...
except for the Storm...
the Birds have disappeared...

Here's a short video of the Beach this morning...
For a more authentic experience, sit in front of a large fan cranked all the way up, and keep throwing handfuls of Sand and spritzes of Saltwater into it...
