Seas 'n Trees... blues 'n greens...

Because the Natural World is Awesome...

New images mostly every day, fresh from Virginia Beach... featuring Sunrises and the Magic that happens where the Sky, the Surf, and the Sand collide and mix into that Mystical State we call the Beach...
So, sit back and enjoy the view... although all the Elements are the same, they mix in entirely different and exciting ways every day... if you can't actually be on the Beach, I'll show you how it was...

Busy Red Horizon at 48th Street, VB, 2.28.13

The far Cloudbank...
played with the Sun
down at the Beach today...
Scattering, catching, and filtering...
those early Rays...
Tossing about...
Reds, Pinks, Oranges...
to Light up...
the Mornin's activities...
Workboats...
and Ships...
pushed through the Dawn...
their Day...
well underway...
Porpoises passed...
a ways Offshore...
seeking food and fun...
as a nice Swell...
pushed in the Tide...
and Surfers...
started to notice...

Greasy, Churnin' Surf at 48th Street, VB, 2.27.13

Kind of a greasy feel...
down at the Beach today...
Yesterday's whipped up Swells...
have been smoothed...
by the Sou'west breeze...
Yesterday's big Rains...
have moved on...
having washed the Sands...
Overnight...
the Air has warmed...
and seems oiled and polished...
It's all so smooth...
and so different...
Spring is runnin' the Show...
today...
Couldn't help but Smile...
down at the Beach today...

Sudsy Fluff at 48th Street, VB, 2.26.13

The breeze is up...
down at the Beach today...
Straight off the Sea...
in your face...
The Swell is building...
The Suds and Foam...
are multiplying...
and the Birds...
are agitated...
Storm's a comin'...

Chilly Nor'easter, With Daffodil, at 48th Street, VB, 2.25.13

The Skies have cleared...
down at the Beach today...
and the winds have come 'round...
blowin' Onshore...
with a nip in it...
The Tides run strong...
under the influence...
of the Big Moon...
and the first...
Daffodil...
has struggled free...
of the Earth...
to tell the Spring...
to come on...
it's Time...

Later...
the Full Snow Moon...
rose behind the Magnolia...

Lazy Foggy Sunday at 48th Street, VB, 2.24.13

The Rain's moved on...
but the Fog remains...
down at the Beach today...
Not chilly...
not warm...
no Joggers...
no Dogwalkers...
The Dredge sits offshore...
but it's not pumpin'...
the Shore Crew...
hasn't shown up yet...
Just a Lazy, Foggy Sunday...
down at the Beach...

Meanwhile...
after Sunset...
the almost Full Moon...
rose...

and then...
posed...
in the Magnolia branches...
for a Moment...

A Foggy Rain at 48th Street, VB, 2.23.13

A wet mornin'...
down at the Beach today...
Rain...
Fog...
Mist...
all swirl together...
in a slow Nor'west breeze...
keepin' most away...
this mornin'...
But they Mist it...
the Chill is Gone...
the air has warmed...
overnight...
and it feels...
like a...
Rainy Spring Day...

Breakfast Bar at 48th Street, VB, 2.22.13

The Birds have gathered...
down at the Beach today...
The Dredge is pumpin' Sand...
stirrin' up the bottom...
settin' all kinds of Critters...
adrift in the Currents...
The Birds know this...
and wait on the Breakfast Bar...
for the Tides...
to set their table...
