Mid 60s, SW breeze, just a few clouds...
The bait and Stripers have been hanging 2 or 3 miles off the Beach for the last few weeks,
where they're out a bit too far to reach by kayak...
But today, the fleet is only about a half mile off, looks like...
And birds are diving almost up to the outer bar...
Gentle surf, makes an easy launch, and a quick paddle out...
Been dreaming of a day like this all season, they are so rare...
And all i can do for the next couple of weeks is watch...
The Fish Gods are so cruel sometimes, lol
Hard to see here, but the boats are just north and not very far off the end of the pier...
Bird runs the surfline while a Coast Guard Cutter patrols the horizon...
The birds are heading toward some birds working close off 40th Street...
More birds ganging up outside the surfline, i thought i saw some fish breaking, too, but it was a ways away and no binoculars...
This one didn't get the memo, he was waiting for me to toss him some chips, i think...
